Finding Futures

Outcomes

Everyone deserves the right to aspire to the very best future, yet only 5.1% of people in England with a learning disability who are known to local authorities go on to secure paid employment, compared to 80% of their peers. On average over the past three years, 83% of our graduates have successfully secured paid employment.

Having gained a multitude of transferable skills and experiences across the programme and having developed increased independence, self-confidence and resilience, interns are in a very strong position to secure paid employment by the end of the year.

Here are just some of the jobs our graduates have gone on to secure:

  • Farm/Animal Husbandry Assistant - local farm
  • Catering Assistant - Royal Crescent Hotel
  • Nursery Worker - local nursery
  • Wedding Caterer - wedding venue
  • Environmental Groundsperson - RUH
  • Front of House team - local farm shop
  • Medical Records Administrator - RUH
  • Cafe Assistant - University of Bath
  • Sports Village Operations Assistant - University of Bath
  • Housekeeper - local hotel
  • Theatre Porter - RUH
  • Teaching Assistant - local school
  • Barista - University of Bath

If my son had not attended the programme he would not have developed the skills and self-confidence needed to secure his new job. If you are unsure of next steps for your young person, I recommend Project SEARCH. They were our life line for our son’s future and I can’t speak highly enough of the team.
